So I just got this phone call. The name on the caller ID shows up as “Toll Free” and that’s it. They really nice-sounding woman identified herself as a representative from Qwest and she’s calling in regards to a survey I filled out. She claims I requested more information about their products. I told her I have not filled any such survery (and I haven’t) and I don’t need more information about Qwest products as they send me junk mail every other day advertising their products. She claimed I did then told me the call would be monitored and she just needs my permission to access my account information. *red flag*

I told her if she’s from Qwest she already has my information. She claimed she only had my name and phone number and now she just needs my physical address and —- That’s where I cut her off. I’m not giving out any information. Nada.

IF this person was truly from Qwest why would they be asking for my account info? Doesn’t that seem strange? Heck, I’ve had a call from a commercial collection agency before (long ago, when we were still in debt) and they had ALL my information so they didn’t need to ask me a thing. In this day and age of identity theft, Qwest went about this all wrong. If that was truly them.

Edited to add: They just called me AGAIN! This time someone different with a heavy accent and she sounded giggly…like she was laughing at something someone was saying. Me definitely thinks something is amiss.
