What a Wonderful Weekend!

We started off our day by being lazy and lounging around the house enjoying our Saturday off. Then around 2 we packed everyone up and went swimming at the Kids Club. While we were swimming and goofing off, one of my wedding bands almost slipped off. I need to get these sauntered together! We’ve been married eight years and I never got around to doing that. From there we went out to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. We haven’t been there in over a year.

We got there early for dinner; before 5 PM. We were all starving after swimming and only a light lunch earlier. Cody dropped his plate which of course shattered everywhere. I was really impressed with the staff and how cheery they were about it. Most of the time you get staff who pretend they don’t care but you can tell, they hate you for making them clean up your mess. But these girls were genuinly cheerful and reassuring. Then they pointed out they had kids trays. Oops. We forgot about those!

They paid us back for the mess with crappy food. Apparently they let their lunch scraps sit out till dinner and wait for schmucks like us to come in all starving to scarf the stale food without complaint. The bread was stale (except the sourdough, it was divine) the soup I wanted was almost gone and I had to scrape the bottom of the pot. Their was no fresh cheesy bread (there was cheesy bread though.. note, I said no FRESH cheesy bread), no fresh pizza (again, there was pizza, just not FRESH pizza) and the four cheese Alfredo was cold. The salad and corn bread was good though.

After that we went to the store and found a killer deal on some bar stools. We found ones we liked several months ago but they were too spendy. They had them on sale yesterday but I noticed that a few months of sitting on their shelves have been hard on the stools. There were some dings on them. (Minor) So I asked if we could get a further discount. They gave us another 30% off which meant we got the chairs for half price. SCORE! My kids can finally eat at the breakfast bar without sitting on their knees (on chairs that are too low).

After that we went to see the movie Transformers. Jack and I had seen it already on the night it came out. I missed a bunch of it though. But that’s for another entry. This time I got to see the whole thing and seeing my kids, especially Cody enjoy it so much was a delight. Cody kept saying “this is so cool!” “this is so awesome!”.

It was a wonderful day! We came home exhausted and had a great night’s sleep. Today we’re day tripping to one of our favorite SCA events, William Tell.
