Trying to not be a grinch
….but damnit if it isn’t hard today. So after my little rant, I grabbed my water bottle, cell phone, and present wrapping paraphernalia and headed upstairs to tackle some more presents. (I’m almost done!!). I put on some Christmas music and started feeling the stress of the week melt away as I thought of how fun Christmas is going to be, and how I’m off work for the next several days, and that I only need a few more things to pick up at the store tomorrow.
It then dawned on me that one of the Christmas gifts I needed had to be purchased at that very minute because I’m buying it from the school. School for today was already out and the office closed in about 20 minutes for the rest of the holiday season. I hightailed it out of here and got there just as they were getting ready to close up shop. *whew* I got what I needed then came straight back home where I grabbed the mail on the way in.
I was still in a good mood as I read through the Christmas cards we received, until I came across a Christmas card where the envelope had been forced open. It was from Jack’s work headquarters. It was a fairly standard corporate card but it bugged me that it was clearly forced open. I called Jack and sure enough, everyone at his work got cards, and all of them were forced open. Someone did some investigating and it turned out headquarters had sent out little $15.00 Visa gift cards to everyone. They likely sent them to every employee, which is in the 50,000 range nationwide. Everyone at Jack’s work had theirs stolen…. as did we.
Merry F’ing Christmas to the bastard who stole all those gift cards…. for some, that could have meant a meal…. Fifteen dollars is not going to make or break us but we could have used it. Ya know? Goddamn the human race sucks.
Ok… I’m done ranting…. I’m going to continue to try HARD to not be a grinch… but…. with all the crooked people I’ve encountered this week, that was the icing on the cake GRRRRR!!!!! ,,i,,

Don’t blame you for feeling like you do Tracy — that’s so rotten of someone to do! Put it behind you though. It’s not worth spoiling the happiness of the season for you and your family.
Hugs,
Maggie
