Thursday Thirteen #11 - how to get my name wrong

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen ways to get My Name Wrong

These are all true and actual ways I’ve had people address me both in person and in print. How hard is it, really, to spell or say, TRACIE? (It’s spelled: T-R-A-C-I-E) Just wondering…

  1. Traci
  2. Tracy
  3. Tracey
  4. Tracee
  5. Stacy
  6. Stacey
  7. Teresa
  8. Theresa
  9. Tammy (this always cracks me up)
  10. Tessa (pretty name but still not me!)
  11. Tiara (for those who think I’m a princess maybe?)
  12. Tanya
  13. Tina

This week’s Thursday Thirteen was inspired by my good buddy Joy Jay over at FlashyDreams.

  1. jeeeeez lady, let it go eh?! and lord don’t call me Joy! /shudder!

kidding, and sorry `bout that ;)

  2. But I had fun with this one.. especially the JOY it brought me!

    You said ‘eh’!!! :)

  3. I often get mine spelled “Cindie” because I have a sister-in-law who spells in that way. And then of course, there are those who call me “Sandy.”

  4. hihi! People always called me Jutta instead of Julia, which is especially annoying cause it’s my mothers name ;)

    Happy TT!

    Greets Julia

  5. ha!

    check out my thursday post

  6. Neat list..Sorry that you get your name misspelled so often

  7. There should be a post on 13 names not to give to children. For example, Cathy. The poor child will spend ages saying with a “C” not a “K” and with a “Y” not an “IE”

    That kind of thing.

My TT is at 13 Things Egyptian your grandchildren will never see

  8. lol Bernie. My best friend is named Cathy.

  9. I was gonna say with a name like “Jack” I never have this problem, but I’ve been called “Jake”, “John”, “Chuck”…

…and of course, the thing that brings back hundreds of hours of joyous childhood memories are the dozens of nursery rhymes (Proper and improper) that involve my name…

  10. P.S.
That 13 Things Egyptian your grandchildren may never see was powerful! Nicely done Bernie.

  11. Wrong: J-E-F-F-E-R-Y
    Wronger: G-E-O-F-F-R-E-Y
    Right: J-E-F-F-R-E-Y

  12. great 13! my name is mispelled on my birth cert. jeniffer is how it is spelled , but my whole life i have used jennifer. how weird.

  13. Great post! Its amazing how much people will slaughter simple names.

  14. You think “Tracie” is bad? Try “Lorelei” on for size.
