Test Strips

Grrr. My test strips have expired. I bought a ton last year. But they sat on a shelf and I didn’t even come close to using them all. This is because I’ve been a slacker when it comes to the diabetes. I’ve been trying to test more this week and getting funky results. Well, duh… it’s because the darn things expired. I also realized I still have not received the results of my last Hba1c done a couple months ago. So I need to call the doc on that. I assume no news is good news, though. At least I hope!

I’m still browsing around for gift ideas for Jack. Think he’d like poker tables? The gambling fool that he is (we won’t go into how much money we lost at Spirit Mountain in June…) he probably would especially if he could play Blackjack on them. But I’m thinking they won’t go very well with our current decor. ;)

  1. My wife has test strips all over the place and test meters, never sure which one she is currently using.

She is keeping it under control though which is good.

  2. Good for her, Michael. And it’s nice to meet you. :)

  3. And you thanks for the comment at my place too.

Yeah she is doing really good and is now working full time too.

  4. I had this happen to me. My insurance pays for my strips for one of my meters but I bought some strips off of ebay for another meter I have and they stated that they didn’t expire until 2008. When I received them I didn’t even check the date and my readings were all over the place that day and the next morning I just happened to look at them and they had expired 6 months earlier. I was so mad. I stopped using ebay for strips after that. The only avenue I had to recoop my money was to give the seller a bad review. I am a lot like Michael’s wife, I have all sorts of meters.

  5. I have two meters. One I like and one I don’t. That really stinks that you got screwed over on eBay! I had that happen to me just last week if you read back that far. :)

  6. I have 6 meters LOL. I must be a collector. Nah… insurance paid for two of them, I purchased one and when I was diagnosed the hospital sent me home with two of them but I didn’t like them. I splurged and purchased a one touch ultra smart before learning that my insurance won’t cover the strips. I was frustrated with the ebay saga. Sorry it happened to you too.
