Still Screwed
The situation with the eBay auction I got screwed over on is resolved. Not to my satisfaction, however. After going back and forth in emails with the seller, she agreed to take back only the items not sized as she claimed they were in the auction listing. At my expense I boxed up and shipped them back to her priority mail. When she received them, instead of being the least bit apologetic, she wrote to me that the items all fit her size 14 daughter. Yay for her size 14 daughter! The auction was for size 16! She gave me details about how each item fit….. then summed up her nastiness with, “And if it was the style you didn’t like you shouldn’t have bid on the auction.”
What. The. Heck. Not once did I tell her I didn’t like the style. I spelled out the problem multiple times . She listed her auction as size 16 and yet sent me items that were not! All of the shirts were either size 16 or Large/X-Large except one. It was a small. And it was skin tight on my daughter. So tight I had to peel it off of her when she tried it on. Why would every other shirt be one size then she’d throw in a size small? One of the pairs of pants were a size 5. The seller claimed they were a juniors size 5 yet when my daughter tried them on they were about 5 inches too long, indicating to me the pants were and ADULT size 5. My daughter is tall for her age! And there was the skirts that were size 0 and size 1. Don’t forget the shirt that stained in 3 places, or the shirt that was stretched out, frayed, and coming apart at the seams on top of being dingy and old-looking. The auction was for “Clothing for Back to School.” And she claimed on the listing, “All clothing items in Good to Excellent condition”. Riiiight.
Her claiming I just didn’t like the style because they fit her younger/smaller daughter was a crock and offended me so I did not hold back on my reply. Prior to that I had been completely civil trying to point out the issue in the nicest way possible. Then she had to be a complete snag about it. Way to treat your buyers, huh? I summed my reply to her with: “I’m getting nowhere near the refund I should be getting and am stuck with stained smelly clothes that I will likely be dropping off at Goodwill….Instead of being even slightly apologetic you’ve been defensive and bordering on hostile making this the worst eBay experience I’ve ever had.”
I should leave her a negative feedback. She screwed up and rather than admit it she treated me like crap and offended me. Giving her a negative would likely result in my first negative feedback ever on eBay from her. And she’s not worth it. I’ve learned my lesson, though. Be much more picky and ask more questions if I ever try to bid on a large clothing lot again. Double check that every piece is the size they claim they are.
On the bright side, the auction I won from another seller for Mo was perfect. I got him 10 pairs of like-new and new with tags pants that all fit 100% perfect because the seller was honest and had the sizes correct. No guess work. Just straight up honesty.
As for the bank situation, they still haven’t located Kevin’s account. It’s currently “In Research”. They know it was closed but not where the money went. I don’t know how a bank can just lose a little kid’s savings. Sure he’s not so little anymore but he was then and he worked hard to save those pennies. And I’m proud of him for wanting to continue where he left off and start saving again. The bank manager tried to get me to open another savings account for him in the meantime. Then when they do find his money they can just transfer it. Like I’ll be using that bank again? With all the hassles they put me through when we moved? Now this? As if.
