Movies!

We’re busy busy as usual here!

Clean up after the fourth was fun…. (not). ;) Actually it just means the party was a hit. We had a blast and I don’t think anyone was disappointed with the fireworks. ;)

All the spring cleaning we did that led up to it has paid off though. I think I went a bit overboard when I purged all the closets and drawers of old clothing. I ended up having to take two of the kids shopping on Saturday for new shorts. Oh well. They weren’t complaining.

This weekend we took the kids to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (Friday night) then to see Superman Returns (Sunday night).

I loved both. I know Pirates has had a lot of negative reviews, primarily for the heavy accents and complicated story line. While I agree with those reviews, I still found the movie very entertaining. There were several “giggly” moments where the whole theater was chuckling.

Superman Returns had a lot of slow moments. I wasn’t impressed that they used CGI for Superman. It was too obvious. My daughter pointed it out the first time they showed Superman. She asked why he was a computer image? If my 10 year old daughter can figure it out, it’s too obvious. Despite that we enjoyed Superman Returns overall.

This week we have more hot tub preparation to do. The concrete has been poured and set (with my youngest’s footprints forever embedded in it.. that was on accident but it turned out adorable). We still need to dig the trench for the wiring and then get the gazebo built to go over it. I’ll post pictures whenever it gets done.

We’ve also received photos and a couple of movies (from J’s Dad) from the 4th of July party that I’ll post soon!

  1. Yes, the party was great. The fireworks were amazing! Thank you for giving it for all your friends. We all really enjoyed it.

  2. Hi,

I’m Payam. My beloved 3 year old nephew was discovered to be diabetic type 1 aroud 10 days ago. My sorrow is beyond belief. After spending some time on the web we decided that CSII therapy is a must and OmniPod is THE choice. Turns out OmniPod is not yet? distributed outside the States. FDA has approved it just for inside the States. And naturally a prescription is needed. Thing is, we are living in Iran and even though speaking English is not a barrier for us especially when it comes to contactng OmniPod customer supper or reading/applying OmniPod mannuals and whatnot and even though we are ready, able to and willing to pay for the PDA, the backup PDA, and test tape and supplies of one full year and again even though we do have relatives/friends inside the States to buy/send us the product, OmniPod says they can’t let us have it unless we are there and we have a prescription written by a physisian inside the states. I phoned OmniPod’s customer support a couple minutes ago. They said there is no way on earth they’re gonna send us the product. Well it’s reasonable but I wish they could see this little child’s face from his uncle/parents point of view. I’m so down I can barely breathe. Can you think of a ‘work around’? Question is: How can we possibly have this OmniPod despite the aforementioned criteria?
We’re gonna need your help. Will you help us? Let me know your opinion preferably thru my email: payam7777777@hotmail.com

    Best.
