Lots of snot = no sleep

sick Remember this guy? He’s baaaaaaack.

You know how when you go swimming and you accidentally get water up your nose, it hurts and sometimes makes you sneeze? That’s how it started yesterday: the feeling in my upper sinuses that I’d snorted chlorine water. Then I started sneezing a lot. Then I started feeling like I needed a nap. I never feel like I need a nap.

I endured my work day, then got ready for my night out with my man. I contemplated not bothering with makeup but went ahead and put a little on and didn’t bother with drying my hair instead (used a bit of gel and scunched it then let it air dry). We went out to a nice dinner, then went and saw Juno (awesome movie by the way). I felt so crappy by the time the movie was over I just wanted to come home and go to bed. And that’s exactly what we did, although sleeping wasn’t going to come easy not being able to breathe out my nose and all. (I also totally forgot to call my mom to wish her a happy birthday yesterday. I suck.)

Today Jack suggested some Theraflu or some antihistamines. I have tried those in the past and they never seem to work for me. I did a little bit of research and came across something called Astragalus. Astragalus apparently provides a good immune system booster and helps your body fight against disease. Maybe I’ll try something like that sometime. For now, I’m off to rest and drink lots of fluids and pray this passes quickly. Pardon the whine but I rarely get sick and this month I’ve had some sort of stomach bug (over in two days) and now a head cold. This is supposed to be my favorite month. Not the month I get sick!

  1. Some of my other blogging buddies have the flu. Sickness seems to be making the rounds. I hope you’re feeling better soon!
