Inch by Inch
I’ve been sick. (Boohoo). At first I thought I had food poisoning. I was violently ill Thursday night all night, then Friday I just felt dizzy and lathargic all day so Jack stayed home with me. Saturday and Sunday I felt a little better and we went even to see Star Wars (which is good!). But Monday I was back to being sick again. It was weird… yesterday I felt better again and today we’ll see how it goes.
The part the scares me is, I didn’t take the metformin when I was sick since I didn’t think that’d be wise. It can cause upset stomach and diahrrea as a side effect. So I didn’t take it Friday, Saturday, and then took it like normal Sunday. Then Monday I got soooo sick again so I didn’t take it. I’ve heard people can develop allergies to this so now I’m afraid to take it wondering if that’s the cause? I didn’t take it yesterday, but will try to take it today to see what happens.
I haven’t worked out that whole time and tried today. I wore out way too fast which tells me I may not be 100% back to normal.
I did lose another 3 lbs. I’m not sure if that’s from being sick, so I’ll wait a bit before I count it towards my total weight loss. (34 pounds).
I have NO idea how many inches I’ve lost so I decided to start tracking. I know it’s got to be a lot because we’re going to our first SCA camping trip of the year this weekend, and when I tried on my garb, none of it fit, which was bittersweet. I’m glad it’s too big (proof I’m losing inches!) but it looked stupid. I just got one of the dresses last year and have only worn it once! It’s sooo pretty too.
Our friend’s wife used to be a professional seamstress so she came over last night and determined 2 inches need to be taken in on either side on this dress and took it home with her to see what she could do. (That’s four inches total! woo) hehe Then this other bodice I had needed 8 inches taken in!! (but that was too big on me even last year..) And a pink dress I have needed 1.5 inches taken in on both sides (it fit snug before).
But this really motivated me to see exactly how many inches I’m losing because, really, that’s all the matters to me. ![]()

((( Tracie ))) I’m sorry you’ve been sick. Definitely take it easy and don’t work out til you’ve been feeling 100% for several days. Very cool about needing to have your SCA clothes taken it! I much prefer to use a tape measure rather than a scale to measure success — the scale can bum you out in no time flat, even if the tape measure makes you smile. Continued success =)
Thanks, Glenda! I’m much better now and don’t think it was the meds.
