Home Heating
When we were looking to purchase our home, one of the major requirements was that it had a fireplace or woodstove. Our old house had a woodstove and ceiling heat. This was not sufficient especially since we had aluminum windows and the house overall was drafty. We ended up using convection heaters in some rooms. Our new house is much more efficient with a natural gas furnace plus a fireplace in the family room that adds a lot to the atmosphere on cold winter nights.
Now that fall and winter is approaching, I’m thinking about finally finishing the decorating in our bedroom. One of the things I’d love to have in there is a fireplace! I think it would be so romantic especially since Jack and I often retire early to snuggle and watch movies in bed together. There’s no simple way to have an actual real fireplace in there, but I’ve been looking at doing something like building a fireplace. You can pick a mantel and the fireplace you’d like to place inside and walla! Instant fireplace! Or something like this would be cool:

Jack’s brother and sister-in-law did this in their living room when they bought their home a couple years ago. It did not come with a fireplace so they built their own electric one and I just love it.
