hmmm

I know I should update this thing more often… but the truth is, I don’t have as much to say as I used to back when I first started blogging.

For one, I intended this to be a ‘my life with diabetes’ blog, to vent, discuss, etc. And now that the ‘honeymoon’ is over, I just don’t have much to say about it. I watch my carb intake, my BG levels are good, and I’m slowly losing weight. That’s about it. So… how does one elaborate?

Second, I’m busy … a lot. My husband and I rarely have time to do much online anymore since we both work full time jobs and have a lot of kids. So I don’t have the day time hours to think up witty or boring blog posts. ;) oh well.

As far as my health, I have fallen off the wagon somewhat since my trip to Hawaii. But I’m slowly getting back on track. I’ve lost 30 pounds total and have plateaued. Not really gaining and not losing either. So it’s definitely time to add more exercise into the mix. I found some pictures of me taken back in August… I can definitely see the difference in my face. Wow. So, that’s been encouraging and motivating to do better.

Going to Hawaii was fun and I’d do it again in a heartbeat, but the excitedness I felt about losing weight disappeared when we got to Hawaii. All the skinny tan people.. and then having to buy a new swimsuit. While I was thrilled to buy a swimsuit in a size smaller than I expected, stepping out onto the beach with all those thin girls in bikinis didn’t help my self-esteem much. lol

Other good news: I got a promotion at my job last week. I start my new duties and hours tomorrow. I’m now a supervisor… it’s kinda scary and exciting at the same time. I was definitely honored when I was approached for the position. It came at a good time for me because I was feeling a bit under-appreciated. I was very wrong in that assumption though, which is a good thing! Obviously. :)
