Digital Cameras
I’m thinking about taking a photography class. I have never thought seriously about doing photography professionally before but the idea intrigues me and I get a thrill whenever I take a good picture. For example this butterfly one taken with my digital camera when we went to the Butterfly Exhibit at the Oregon Zoo. This one and a few others turned out beautifully.
We take our digital camera with us just about everywhere. We have had it for four years now (before we had one of the orginal Cannon digital cameras) and have hundreds and hundreds of photos and videos taken with it. We’ve captured almost every important event in our lives and I love that I can upload them to share with friends and family the same day I take the pictures. No waiting for film to get developed.
One thing I’ve learned is if you want to capture a certain moment or piece of scenery, you have to take several pictures from different angles. With this butterfly one for example, it’s actually in a collection of about 20 shots I took. Out of the 20 shots only three or four are that good. But they are good enough to print and frame and we have a place in our house we will use to display them. I can’t wait to actually get that done and be able to boast that *I* took those pictures.
Our current camera is a Kodak 3.1 Mega Pixel. Which is fine for around the house or to take little butterfly pictures. But it doesn’t do night or action shots as well as I’d like. I sure wouldn’t mind having a 12.3 Mega Pixel camera such as this Nikon D300. Wouldn’t that be nice?
