Coming home early?
Jack’s class got out early today which means he had about 7 hours to hang out before his scheduled flight home. When he called to tell me this I immediately got on the airline site and found a flight leaving several hours earlier. I called and they said it was booked solid. Damn! They said he could still try but there was no guarantees.
He hightailed it to the airport and they told him they could put him on standby. At the very last minute they found a seat for him. Yay! So instead of him getting home four hours from now, he’ll be home in less than two! I’m so happy.
I only wish I was going to be more attractive when he gets here. There won’t be any sexy lingerie, no makeup, no fancy romantic reunions. Just sniffly, stuffy-nosed, lung hacking, watery-eyed me. Fortunately I know he won’t care. Even after fourteen years together we both get giggly and excited to see each other. I still get butterflies.
